Brno, Sept 20 (BD) – Yesterday, the City Council of Brno-střed approved two new sites for public Wi-Fi in the center of Brno. We will soon connect to the public network at the transfer junctions on the Nádražní (Central Station) and Česká/Joštova streets.
Provider’s offer guarantees free connection for citizens. The limit is 200 MB per user for one day.
The Brno-střed city district is the first where free public hotspots have been set up in Brno; other districts will follow.
“We negotiated with one of the data providers. The company will deliver free data in the necessary volume. The delivery of these services will however have to be concluded in a public procurement yet, ” Svatopluk Bartík, a member of the City Council responsible for Legislative and Legal Affairs and Information Technology explained.
Currently, free Wi-Fi access is available at Náměstí Svobody, Zelný trh and the rear side of Jakubské náměstí. All Wi-Fi networks are operated by Brno Technical Networks a.s.
