Meeting Brno takes place every year in late May.
It is a festival that brings together people of different views, cultures, and religions. During the festival, the audience can enjoy readings, theatre performances, concerts, visual art exhibitions, and much more.
The first Meeting Brno festival took place in May 2016, building upon the project “Rok smíření (Year of Reconciliation) of 2015”. The Year of Reconciliation was a set of interrelated events with two goals – to pay homage to all the victims of World War 2 and postwar events and to explore Brno’s history in the European context.
The topic of this year’s festival focuses on the growing populism and radicalism in European countries, and remembering Brno’s emigrants.
The festival also includes a two-day programme called Meeting Brno for Women, which will include a discussion on the current status of women in society.
