Peace Light of Bethlehem in Brno at Petrov Cathedral and on the “Bethlehem Tram”

Brno, Dec 12 (BD) – The Bethlehem light symbolises friendship, peace and the birth of Jesus Christ. For the 30th consecutive year, Czech scouts will go to Austria and bring the light back with them to Brno.
The ecumenical worship service will take place on Saturday, December 15, 2018, in Mariendom in Linz. From there, the scouts will bring it to the Czech Republic on the train 3806 Donau Moldau. The Scout couriers will be delivering the light to locations across the country on Sunday, December 16. On the same day, the Bethlehem light will be welcomed at three cathedrals: in Brno at Petrov at 9 pm, in Prague at St. Vitus Cathedral, and in Olomouc at St. Wenceslas at 10 am.

Brno Transport Company will join the tradition this year. “Visit our Bethlehem tram on Saturday, December 22, 2018, and take the festive Bethlehem light home,” said Hana Tomaštíková from the Brno Transport Company (DPMB). With a lantern or a candle, visitors are welcome to a decorated tram that will stop in the following places:
10.00 – 11.00 on Nádražní Street (in front of the Czech Post Building)
11.15 – 12.45 náměstí Svobody
13.00 – 14.00 Mendlovo náměstí
14.30 – 16.00 again on náměstí Svobody
During the last week of Advent, there will also be a stand with Bethlehem light on Dominikánské náměstí.
